In memory of Louie
If you’re new here, this is my dog, Louie.
Louie was diagnosed with terminal cancer in March and after five months of chemotherapy, he recently lost his fight. But before he left, he gave us something far greater than we could have imagined.
We had spoken about creating this retreat for years, always feeling the pull but never quite taking the leap. The cost of Louie’s treatment became the catalyst that pushed us into action. In many ways, this retreat exists because of him. He is the reason we finally built the courage to create this space.
The final days of Louie’s life fell on the weekend of our second retreat. It was emotional, raw, and deeply meaningful. For most of the weekend, Louie rested nearby, surrounded by love and quiet moments with his mama (Kaydee).
During the closing circle, something extraordinary happened. Despite barely being able to move in the days prior, Louie stood up, slowly walked up the stairs, and made his way around the circle, gently greeting several of the women. He then stopped, looked directly at Kaydee & Sammy, and smiled. For the first time in over a week.
In that moment, we knew. He was letting us know he was proud, and that his work here was complete.
A close friend and energy healer later shared that Louie came to her with a message. That he had chosen this path to help push us fully into our purpose, and that he would choose it again, without hesitation.
Louie, thank you for your blessing. You are forever woven into everything we create here.
Your magic lives on.
Love always, Your Mama & Nanny.
